Fans of heavy metal received some heartbreaking news as organizers announced the cancellation of Las Vegas’ much-anticipated “Sick New World” festival.

In a statement shared on the festival’s website, organizers wrote, “It is with great disappointment that we announce that Sick New World will no longer take place in Las Vegas on April 12, 2025.”

The event had been one of the most buzzed-about festivals of the season, boasting a lineup that included powerhouse acts like Metallica, Evanescence, and Queens of the Stone Age.

Adding to the hype was a planned reunion performance by Acid Bath, their first since 1997, and Linkin Park’s Las Vegas debut with their new lead vocalist, Emily Armstrong. Fans had been eagerly awaiting what promised to be a historic event.

For now, metalheads will have to hold onto hope for what the future holds for Sick New World.

Organizers added that they add their thanks to the fans who planned to attend and to “stay tuned” for more information.
